Pho Tau Bay has some solid Vietnamese food. It’s located right on the end of Eat Street, in a stand alone building with a spacious parking lot. It may appear to look closed, but venture inside and you’ll find people slurping away at pho. They have a wide variety of food on their menu- dishes even span Thai and Chinese. I recommend sticking to their noodle soups- whether that be beef rice noodle soup, pork rice noodle soup, or yellow egg noodle soup.
They’ll give you a plate full of bean sprouts, jalapenos, lime, basil and other greens. Rip all the greens up and dump the greens and fresh bean sprouts in your steaming hot soup so they partially cook/wilt. David ordered the large 3. Phở tái,nạm,gân (Rice noodle soup with fresh sliced beef ,flank and tendon), $7.45 (below).
Below: 32. Mì hoành thánh (Egg noodle soup with meat wontons), $7.45. A big bowl of wontons, egg noodles, and roast pork. One of my favorite Vietnamese soups! Most of their entrees are under $8 and you can get a meaty sandwich for $3. This restaurant is a bargain!
Best Bets: Beef noodle soup (pho), Mì hoành thánh (Egg noodle soup with meat wontons)
