Ginger Hop (Minneapolis, MN: Northeast)

We ate at Ginger Hop for happy hour earlier this year on their patio. They happily accommodated our group of 8 people and we had a great time. Funso ordered the Walleye Satay (3 sticks per order, $4, beer battered and deep-fried, served with wasabi tartar sauce) and the Pork Egg Rolls (two golden crisp egg rolls stuffed with Fischer farms ground pork, cabbage and spices, $3.50).  Who can go wrong with these happy hour prices?  I got the Steven Segal (vegan sloppy Joe made with tempeh, diced veggies all covered in a sweet tangy sauce with sweet potato fries, $5.95).  I thought my sloppy joe was great and I would absolutely order it again, especially since Ginger Hop offers sweet potato fries!  We also ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls (gluten-free, filled with rice noodles, lettuce, carrots, mint, basil and your choice of tofu with hoison or shrimp with a sweet peanut sauce, $3.50) and the Pickle Satay (2 per order, battered and fried served with spicy ketchup, $4). I’m more of a fan of fried pickle coins vs. spears but these were delicious nonetheless.
