Lunch at Namaste Cafe is relaxing. The three of us sat outside on the patio (clearly it’s been a while since we’ve gone, as it’s -35 degrees in Minneapolis right now). When we ate there in August, our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the vegan Coconut Curry with Tofu, Mushroom & Green Peas with Cauliflower Peas and Potatoes; Chole; Raita and Carrot Coconut Crème Brulee, $9. Namaste Cafe offers two or more lunch box choices daily and at $9, it’s a steal. The tofu was hearty and the multiple side dishes were a nice variety of flavors. The carrot coconut creme brulee probably isn’t for everyone, but I enjoyed the carrot packed dessert.
Devan ordered the Creamy Masala Chicken with Cauliflower Peas and Potatoes; Chole; Raita and Carrot Coconut Crème Brulee, $9. Ally ordered the gluten-free Fried Rice – Kathmandu Style (Fried rice with eggs, onions, green peas, mushrooms, scallions and your choice of chicken, shrimp or tofu, spiced with soy sauce, ginger, garlic and a dash of cumin and cayenne, $9). Both Ally and Devan thoroughly enjoyed their lunches.
